The neighborhood of East Nashville, Tennessee is a wonderfully interesting mix of personalities and people, and the area is a charming, attractive place to live because in some respects it has not changed in many years, but in other areas of the neighborhood, changes are happening before anyone realizes...a new business opens up, one closes, buildings and homes are remodeled and some torn down...people move in and people move away. Everyone agrees it is a great place to live.
This is the reason that I decided to document my neighborhood, the buildings, streets, the people, and the events that happen here.
The East Nashville Project consists of two components, incorporating still photography documentation of people, places and events that shape the neighborhood. The second component is the motion picture filming, interviewing the talented musicians that have made the neighborhood home, and telling their stories. Filming will commence in the Spring of 2010, and will continue until the neighborhood has spoken.
